The Little Girl Behind the Bunnies
Meet Blakely Sage Foss—our beautiful, bright-eyed little girl who packed more love, laughter, and personality into 14 months than we ever thought possible.
Blakely, affectionately known as "Bean" was pure sunshine. She loved music, dancing, balloons, books, boat rides, and anything involving her favorite people. She had the sweetest smile, a contagious little laugh, and a way of making even the most ordinary moments feel extraordinary.
On November 26, 2024, our world changed forever when we lost Blakely following a tragic daycare incident.
We were given 14 beautiful months with our girl. Not nearly enough time, but enough for her to change our lives forever.
And while we would give anything for one more hug, one more giggle, or one more ordinary day with her, we are determined that her story doesn't end there.
How Blakely's Bunnies Began
During the six days Blakely spent on life support at Sanford Children's Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota, she had a special stuffed bunny by her side.
That little bunny became a symbol of comfort during the most heartbreaking days of our lives.
After losing Blakely, we wanted to find a way to honor her memory while bringing a little bit of comfort to other children and families facing their own difficult moments.
And so, Blakely's Bunnies was born.
Through this project, we donate soft, cuddly stuffed bunnies to children at Sanford Children's Hospital. Each bunny comes with a special message sharing a little piece of Blakely's story.
Our hope is simple: that every child who needs a little extra comfort can have a bunny to hold, and every family receiving one knows that someone is thinking of them.
Because sometimes, when there are no words, a little something to hold can mean everything.

As Blakely's mom, I wanted to create something that allowed me to spend more time with her little brother, Colter, while doing something I genuinely enjoy—and finding meaningful ways to keep his big sister's memory alive.
That's part of how Itsy Bitsy Candle Co. came to life.
Our name was inspired by Blakely and her love of music, especially The Itsy Bitsy Spider. What started as a creative outlet has grown into something with a much bigger purpose.
Every candle we pour is a reminder that even the smallest things can make a difference.

Since Blakely's Bunnies began, we've been blessed to donate hundreds of stuffed bunnies to children at Sanford Children's Hospital. What started as one family's wish to honor a little girl has grown into something more meaningful than we ever imagined. Hundreds of little bunnies have found their way into the arms of children who needed a little extra comfort, each carrying a piece of Blakely's love and legacy.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of our family, friends, and community. Every donation, every shared story, and every act of kindness has helped us turn our heartbreak into something beautiful.
And we're just getting started.
Our dream is to continue growing Blakely's Bunnies so that more children at Sanford Children's Hospital can receive a soft bunny of their own.
With every bunny donated, Blakely's memory reaches another family. Her story continues. Her love keeps finding new places to land.
